The Amazing Race
People are pissing me off. No one particular person is pissing me off, but people of the western world in general. Eve Ensler says in her play that the women of Afghanistan humbled her as she ate ice cream with them. These women risk being flogged to eat ice cream in back rooms of stores.
Tonight on “The Amazing Race” people had the opportunity to see Africa, and all they could talk about was the poverty and their disgust for it. I don’t expect them to go and help, or do some sort of humanity work while they are on their race for the almighty dollar, but at least Chip and Kim (winners of the last race) showed respect and took a few minutes to eat watermelon with them.
The whole thing just disgusts me… I would kill for that opportunity and the money would just be the icing on the cake, just to be able to see that much of the world.

The competitors only see the million dollars as they race around the world, they don't see the women behind the curtains.
They had to scoop salt for an hour, these people will have to do it for the rest of their lives. No one stopped to think about that.

this is a picture of J's hat that I made for him to match his scarf.. I used the left over yarn from his scarf to make a soft warm section for around his head and a wool yarn on top to keep in the warmth.. Can't wait to send it up in a care package for him! this is also the first project I have done using double pointed needles, what a challenge! Posted by Hello

This is the beginning of my boxstitch scarf... Very excited about the effect of this simple pattern! Posted by Hello
