Baby Steps
Step 1: Admit that models are underweight and start doing something to encourage them to change

Step 2: Hire normal looking women like Crystal Renn to model for major fashion houses like Dolce & Gabbana.
<--- isn't she gorgeous?!

Step 3: Don't relegate her to "plus sized"

Wow, that girl is hot! Wouldn't it be nice if walking stick figures went out of fashion and were looked upon as what they are? Undernourished and sickly.

Something like 60% of adult women in America wear a size 12 or larger. That woman is absolutely gorgeous, and healthy looking. The fact is, even models don't really look like they do in magazines...it's all digital manipulation and airbrushing. Yet, girls (and women) strive to look like something that doesn't exist. I don't understand why, as women, our value as a human being is related to how much we weigh or what size we wear. It's frightening that some would rather literally starve themselves to death than be fat. I'm fat, I'm successful, I rock and I have always felt that if you have a problem with my weight, it's your problem. Period.

As you might notice, self-esteem has never been an issue with me.

I don't know if there's anything hotter than taking a girl out to dinner and watching her actually eat dinner.

That girl really is sexy, healthy looking women are so much more beautiful than starved waifs.

Unless the boobies are rocking.

Well starved waifs don't have boobies! Only real women have curves. Even though I'm losing weight, my end goal is not to be a skeleton, it's to be a healthy, comfortable size and shape - and that includes some curvy bits.

If I can help you in your quest to change the world please let me know :)

You are so damn fabulous that it makes me ache, Miss Knit. Great post. Crystal Renn is beautiful, and hopefully her modelling for D&G is a sign of things to come.

i wish it said what they're defining a size twelve as.

she is beautiful though. and i covet that swimsuit. (i have a similar one in black.)

Miss Kendra - I wish I had that swimsuit, and walked around in it and high heels.
I know what you mean about size but maybe I'm jaded because I'm a size 12 and incredibly short.

You know what's scary? I was watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, and you know how they always have some Broadway production? The dancers looked heavy compared to actresses in models. They hadn't an ounce of fat on them; it was all muscle.

Is being frail and listless really attractive?

i'd just like to say that i do wear that swimsuit and heels around my house.

it makes me feel good.

you can see evidence of this on my blog- it's on the cow-naming contest, in my best-of posts.

i recommend walking around in heels like this to anyone.
