are we crazy?
We have two choices in looking for apartments, the suburbs which are much cheaper and well, boring with little transport options.

Downtown has EVERYTHING great transport, all the entertainment and nice neighbourhoods to walk around, but they are pricey.

So do we get the little studio apartment in the suburbs for 100$ a week, or do we go for broke (literally) and get the beautiful fully furnished apartment downtown close to transport, shops and the river for 300$?

I've never done this before (look for an apartment, make decisions of such a manner), I'm leaning towards the downtown place since I figure I can only live in Australia once I might as well not live in a place that looks exactly like my old suburb in california.

so freaked.

Go for it. Go for it. Go for it. This is once in a lifetime. Plus I'm betting if you really do the good search you will find something closer to your price range. Make it happen Knitty!

You should definitely go for the apartment downtown. It's Australia! Of course, maybe you shouldn't take advice from a random blogger!

It may seem like more up front for the city place, but add up the expenses you'll have if you move to the burbs. You'll have to furnish the place and pay for transportaion. It may end up being similarly priced and nowhere near as fun. Go for it!!

Damn you're brave.

Is it month-to-month? Can't hurt to try posh on for size.
